Beta 58A – is very similar to the SM58 (see Sm57 - for more related info...), and is commonly mistaken for one. It has almost the same body, with a blue tint rather than being black. It has a supercordioid polar pattern allowing for more isolation from unwanted sound sources. And it has a frequency response tailored for vocals – the high mids are brightened, and the lows are rolled off. I find the additional high mids to be useful for the right singer and detrimental for the wrong one. It’s hit or miss for singers. - Adam
